Job Summary:
The Media Planner is responsible for developing and executing effective media plans to drive brand awareness, increase customer engagement, and achieve marketing objectives. This role requires a deep understanding of advertising and media strategies, as well as strong analytical and communication skills.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Collaborate with the Communication and Media Manager to develop media strategies that align with the organization's marketing goals and target audience.
2. Conduct thorough research and analysis to identify target demographics, market trends, and media consumption habits.
3. Utilize market research and insights to develop data-driven media plans that optimize media channels and placement.
4. Evaluate and recommend appropriate media platforms, including print, broadcast, digital, and social media, based on target audience reach and engagement potential.
5. Negotiate media buying terms, including rates, placement, and added value opportunities, while ensuring adherence to budget constraints.
6. Monitor and analyze media campaign performance metrics, such as reach, frequency, impressions, click-through rates, and conversion rates, to assess effectiveness and optimize future campaigns.
7. Stay informed about industry trends, emerging media channels, and new advertising technologies to continuously enhance media planning strategies.
8. Collaborate with creative and marketing teams to ensure messaging and creative assets align with media plans and effectively reach the target audience.
9. Maintain relationships with media vendors and partners to leverage opportunities for added value, sponsorships, and promotional activities.
10. Prepare and present media plans, reports, and recommendations to internal stakeholders, including senior management, to gain buy-in and support for media strategies.
Qualifications and Skills:
1. Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Advertising, Communications, or a related field.
2. Proven experience (X years) as a Media Planner or in a similar role within the advertising industry.
3. In-depth knowledge of media planning principles, best practices, and emerging trends.
4. Proficiency in using media planning and analytics tools, such as Nielsen, comScore, Google Analytics, or equivalent.
5. Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data, identify insights, and make data-driven decisions.
6. Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively convey complex ideas and strategies to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
7. Exceptional negotiation and vendor management skills.
8. Ability to work effectively under pressure, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and meet deadlines.
9. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel and PowerPoint.
10. Familiarity with advertising regulations, compliance, and ethical standards.
